Carol picked me up at my home and I soon became buddies with her little Lincoln again.
At 10:30am we were on the road to South Haven by way of Starbucks on West Main Street in Kalamazoo.
It was a beautiful day, warm but with a cool crisp breeze.
We walked on 2 beaches in South Haven and headed to Saugatuck by way of A2 Blue Star Highway and Lakeshore Drive.

We attempted a couple of "private drives" then proceeded to Saugatuck. (The beach and shoreline are not "Lookie Lou" friendly around this area. Everyone's private property is private, with much high growth to block even a peek.

So, we get the sand off our feet again and head to Saugatuck Michigan.
We do a driving tour of Saugatuck first, before looking for a good parking spot. Saugatuck in the summer is very crowded, and this day was not an exception....but I scoped out my favorite secret spot and we were set.
First stop was Amaru to visit Beth and Beth, two of my very dear friends that just happen to be the best artists in leather. I was surprised and dismayed to see that Beth had broken her wrist but good to hear that it was on the mend. They are very wonderful ladies and please visit them when you are in Saugatuck. (They make beautiful purses and belts and leather goods)
Then we stopped at the T-Shirt Shoppe and visited with Dan Brown, my best Sautatuck friend and then off to eat lunch at Walley's. Where we had a great burger which turned into lunch and dinner.
But of course we had ice cream for desert. Mine was salted caramel and Carol, hmmm, what did she have? Oh, yes, I remember, Mint Chocolate Chip. (Thanks Carol).

| 8-8-2013 It's hard to see, but the store with the T Shirts is the T Shirt Shoppe with my friend Dan Brown. |
 |
| 8-8-2013 A walk on the dock in Sauagtuck Michigan and I see THE BOAT is still here, I think it's a newer one. |
We shopped and looked, and looked and shopped. Then retreated to our room at Timberland Motel on Blue Star Highway just outside of Saugatuck. We got comfortable and then went out to the pool and enjoyed the nice evening relaxing.
